Cookie Policy
Last updated 20 October 2026
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on topmarkconversions.co.uk, what they do and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Websites can also keep small amounts of information in your browser’s local storage and session storage, which work in a similar way. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.
Your choice
When you first visit, we ask whether you’re happy for us to use analytics cookies. We only load Google Analytics and Hotjar if you choose Accept analytics. If you choose Reject analytics, or don’t make a choice, neither of them is loaded and none of their cookies are set.
You can change your mind at any time. If you withdraw your consent, we remove the analytics cookies from your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. The website still works if you do.
Necessary storage
These keep the website working the way you’d expect and remember your choices. They don’t track you and aren’t shared with anyone, so we don’t ask for consent to use them.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
tmc_cookie_consent |
Cookie | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we don’t ask on every page | 12 months |
chat-teaser |
Session storage | Remembers that the chat prompt has been shown, so it doesn’t keep appearing | Until you close the tab |
Analytics cookies
We only use these if you accept them. They help us understand how people find and use the website, so we can improve it. We don’t use them for advertising.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics, provided by Google, tells us how many people visit the website, which pages they look at and how they found us.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
_ga_8G0TF0C1Q7 |
Keeps track of your current visit | 2 years |
Google explains how it uses information from websites that use its services.
Hotjar
Hotjar shows us how visitors use our pages, such as where they click and how far they scroll, so we can see what’s working and what isn’t. Hotjar doesn’t track you across other websites.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_hjSessionUser_6632598 |
Cookie | Recognises you as the same visitor when you come back | 365 days |
_hjSession_6632598 |
Cookie | Links the pages you view during one visit | 30 minutes, extended while you’re active |
_hjCookieTest, _hjLocalStorageTest, _hjSessionStorageTest, _hjTLDTest |
Cookies | Check what your browser allows Hotjar to store | Removed almost immediately |
_hjHasCachedUserAttributes, _hjUserAttributesHash |
Cookies | Keep Hotjar’s visitor information up to date | Up to the end of your visit |
hjViewportId, hjActiveViewportIds |
Session and local storage | Store your screen size and which of our pages you have open | Until you close the page |
_hjClosedSurveyInvites, _hjDonePolls, _hjMinimizedPolls |
Cookies | Only set if we run a survey on the website, so the same survey isn’t shown to you again | 365 days |
Hotjar lists these in its guide to cookies set by the Hotjar tracking code.
